I was above Portmagee with the drone already up when a single break appeared in a solid wall of cloud, and a shaft of warm golden light dropped straight onto Bray Head. The moorland on top lit up like it was on fire while the Fogher Cliffs stayed in deep shadow. Behind the island, rain was falling over the mainland mountains, a grey curtain that made the warm headland glow even harder against it.
